Hello AGAIN MY FrIENDS,

First off, I’d like to send out a heartfelt thanks to all the fine folks who came out to our show at the Summit on Friday night.   It was a lot of fun to jump in our mental time machine and ride back a few years to our old school days again as we played the north campus venue.   Neither Bridge Construction nor I have played at an osu club in a long while.     There’s something about going into a restroom that smells like it hasn’t seen soap in at least a month that keeps most of us away, if given the option.   However, the beer was cold and cheap, the room was large, and the sound system was plenty loud…so all things considered, it was a great experience.

Anyway, The point I want to make to those who made it to the show is:  I love your sense of adventure.    Even though you and I had never been to the venue before, even though parking was challenging, and even though the neighborhood was less than stellar….you came anyway.     That’s so cool!  Thanks.

The other thought I wanted to pass along resulted from an encounter I had with a football fan this morning.   He had a BAD case of the Monday morning blues…because all of his favorite football teams Both college and pro, lost over the weekend.   I felt sympathetic to his wheels in the ditch mood, since I’m a huge football fan myself.   But you know….just like investing in the stock market (although I have never actually purchased one share in my entire life…though I have read about it) you should absolutely diversify your interests.   Don’t put all your energy and relative sanity into a football basket of eggs.    Let me offer live local music which usually includes a bright shiny get together with friends at a club as an alternate option to also pursue in search of balanced mental health.

I respect the power and attraction of buckeye football and basketball.  It’s the local team for heaven’s sake.   Therefore, I promise I will try my very best to never schedule a bridge construction show at the exact same time the bucks are playing.   That way all of us ball nuts can always have both:   Sports…AND Music with friends.     So for some of us on this Windy and rainy November Monday morning, we can sincerely proclaim: It was a FABULOUS weekend, even though the bucks lost to underdog Purdue because they missed an extra point with one minute left in the game.    B.C. however had a blast playing a set Friday night with The Idiot Boys, and Pig Circus, and hanging out with engaging people  at a campus tinged dive bar, that was just plain fun…just like some of the good old school days….just like a wonderful old pair of jeans that feel as comfortable as pants can Possibly feel.     Ahhh….
