Band History: | ||
Biography Bridge Construction is a guitar-happy, melody-driven, harmony-infused sextet that likes its beer cold and frothy, its guitar solos meaty and swanky, and its songs hooky and engaging. From Columbus, Ohio, Bridge Construction is fresh on the music scene and ready to do a little dancing with you, rockslide style. Steadily winning fans and devotees with their CD “Rockslide Dancing”, front man singer/songwriter/guitar player Chris Nye compels you to listen, dance, sing along and rock out to the music he and his band mates make. Armed with a rich narrative and his favorite electric and acoustic guitars; he strums, skanks and fingerpicks his way through life’s landscape on his and the band’s first CD release. “Rockslide Dancing” sounds like Tom Petty meets Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Timbuk 3 meets The Wallflowers. Guitar leads aplenty, with vocal harmonies and keyboard accents, varied percussion and slamming bass, their songs are ones you can sink your teeth into. Self-produced and in charge of their own music and mischief making, their mission is to “bridge” musical styles and generations. Contributing band members are Eric Alexander on drums, Rick Carleski on keys and vocals, John Talmage on lead guitar, Matt Andrus on bass and Pamela Ison on percussion and vocals.
“Rockslide Dancing…lush layers of instrumentation layered along the way with impressive Hammond Organ, Piano, impressive keyboard accents, well placed percussive accents & amazing harmonies along the way… The songs themselves are addictive, infectious”… Cyrus Rhodes of The Muse’s Muse
Currently they play select 3-set shows at the Woodlands Taverns. With an overflow of songs from their first CD’s recording sessions and a flurry of new songs being written, they expect their second CD release to happen in the next six months or so. A little short on sleep, but not on songs-as Chris Nye likes to put it, “You can sleep when you’re dead. Let’s make some music!”
